All the stores here have a good concept with fish. They tag there arrival date that is marked with what each fish is eating and if they are reef or invert safe. It more than anything eliminates them being asked 100 times a day. As far as price, the lowest I have seen a yellow tang is $60, which is why for that price I ordered from Unique Corals. I saved $10 and know they quarintine and like usual I have a very fat healthy tang. Corals are similiar in that they are high in price. So far all the stores give credit for trading in coral which is nice.

Club i have thought about .... Store? Naw I like money too much haha ...
  5. I can say ive always been pretty safe when it came to fish. Aclimation and quarintine, seen my sister lose a few $100 on fish cause of one sick fish being introduced to the tank. My biggest mistakes come in the form of equipment. Simple things like getting an RO/DI unit but trying to save $20-$25 bucks by eliminating the TDS meter. While it saved a little up front I was out maybe 4 or 5 times that trying to correct a green hair algae problem a year later cause my filters were used up. Ive always been avaliable for advice. Some take it and some dont. One thing for sure patience and saving for "your" right piece can save you a lot down the road. There is a reason why one brand is $125 and the other 3 are $250 ....

Crazy to think that its cheaper for me to ship fish from California than buy it here in the stores. (Grand Rapids, MI)

Yeah I dont rely on them much but have always had them in my builds just in case. I know the one time I eliminate it, thats when I would have needed it. From the pics on here I couldnt see anybodys ... Haha

    New Build .....

So been busy this last week with work, but I was able to order "majority" of what I need. The tank is a 57 Gallon middle over flow. I wanted to go bigger but like I mentioned in a previous post the landlords were scared. Another renter had a consistent 20 gallon leak. I had to make sure my tank was on my insurance. Rock Ordered - 30LBs Reef Saver - 10LBs Pukani - 10LBS Tonga RO/DI Unit Ordered - BRS 6 Stage Saver 150 Sand Ordered - Fiji Pink 30Lbs Sump - Eshopps Refugium R-100 Eheim Compact 5000 Return Tunze Osmolator 3155 for ATO Vortech MP10 (Will get one more later) After going back in forth about lighting I decided to go with...... ATI 36 Inch 6 Bulb T5 Controlable Fixture. I will be adding some reefbrites to this down the road. Next step will be getting salt... Haha.. Thats kind of important. Also, plan to get an Apex as well as a doser when I get corals in this thing. Pics soon...

    New Build .....

So I ordered a tank. Was not allowed to go as big as I wanted because of apartment insecurities, apartment said the biggest tank they allowed in the past was a 20 and the individual had a leak multiple times. I got them to up that water volume, lol. I can say that reefing isn't big in Michigan but there is a lot of wholesale companies here along with internet stores. Just not any coral shops like Neptunes or Diablo. Will have to make appointments to go through there farm systems, which is fine by me. Also, there isn't a reef club here, it has been created and fell apart multiple times from what I was told. I plan to go big or go home on equipment.

Not an Emergency but would like your opinion

Id frag a little of each and give to people to hold in promise they give u a peice back. Then try to make the move and try to get thing set up right away. It can be done but id plan "really" well the steps u need to take in order to do so. 30 mins here or there can mean a crash. Good luck.
