How to spray paint stainless steel?

Recommended Posts

I need to spray paint my stainless steel cad lights lamp tree black. What is the best paint to use? I'm thinking some sort of spray paint primer and then black paint? Any tips appreciated.

Ever considered powder coating?

I was considering it. Do you know anyone? I figured it might be spendy. My fixture is power coated. It looks really good.

Im sure you could find someone local. Have it prepped and take it to them and tell them to toss it in next time theyre running black. Probably only cost ya $20 or so. Maybe less if they were nice.

You should use a high quality, high heat automotive primer and paint.

I think thats the plan. I need to have a controlled turn around time. It should come out good. Will post pics when its sunny and I can actually spray something.
